Health Requirements to Travel Between Asuncion and Brazil
As of March 3th 2023, all passengers traveling to Brazil must comply with certain requirements related to COVID-19 test and forms detailed below.
FROM ASUNCIÓN – BRAZIL: Applies to all passengers (Brazilian citizens included)
- Current and valid Identity Document during the planned period of stay.
- All passengers traveling to Brazil must present proof of vaccination, printed or electronically, with immunizations approved by the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) or by the World Health Organization (WHO) or by the authorities of the country where the traveler has been immunized. that validates they have received the last dose of the complete scheme at least 14 days prior to departure. The vaccination certificate will be accepted in the following languages: Spanish, English, or Portuguese.
Exemptions:
- Passengers with medical proof that the individual is medically unable to receive the vaccine. These travelers must present a negative RT-PCR or antigen test performed maximum 1 day prior to departure from the first point of embarkation. The letter/certificate must be issued in Portuguese, Spanish or English.
- Children under the age of 12 who are traveling with a companion if all companions present the required negative/non-reactive COVID-19 tests. In case of unaccompanied minors, they must present proof of the negative/non-reactive COVID-19 test performed maximum 1 day prior to departure.
- Passengers who have had COVID-19. These passengers must present two positive RT-PCR tests at least 14 days apart, with the last one performed within 24 hours prior to flight departure. They must also present a medical certificate stating that the person is asymptomatic and able to travel, including the date of travel. The certificate must be issued in Portuguese, Spanish or English and contain the identification and signature of the responsible physician.
- Brazilians and foreigners residing in Brazilian territory who are not fully vaccinated. These travelers must present a negative RT-PCR or antigen test performed maximum 1 day prior to departure from the first point of embarkation. The certificate must be issued in Portuguese, Spanish or English.
- Proof of vaccination must contain, at least, the name of the passenger and the following information:
a) Identification of the vaccine manufacturer.
b) Batch number of the vaccine administered.
c) Date of administration of the vaccine.
Proof of vaccination indicating data in QR-CODE format, or any other coded language will not be accepted. In addition, COVID-19 recovery certificates will not be accepted as evidence of full vaccination.
3. Present an international vaccination card against yellow fever (the vaccine must be applied at least 10 days before the trip).
Failure to comply with the requirements may result in denied boarding.
FROM BRAZIL TO ASUNCIÓN: Paraguay citizens, foreigners, and residents in Paraguay
- Valid Identity Document
- Vaccination certificate against COVID-19: Not required.
- SARS-CoV-2 Test: Not required.
- All passengers must present an International Certificate of Vaccination against Yellow Fever. This vaccination certificate is required for travelers from countries at risk of disease transmission (Brazil, Bolivia, Peru and Venezuela). This document will be required at the entrance and departure from the Paraguayan territory (photos/photocopies will not be accepted). The vaccine must be applied at least 10 days before the trip.
Transit passengers in Asuncion:
Passengers in transit via Asuncion are allowed to stay at the airport for a maximum of 24 hours, when there is an agreement between airlines.
