Health Requirements to Travel Between Asuncion and Buenos Aires

These are entry restrictions that each government sets for travelers. We recommend you to thoroughly read the current restrictions, not only before purchasing the ticket, but also in the days prior to the flight since they can constantly change. The passenger is responsible for having the necessary documentation to make the trip

FROM ASUNCION TO BUENOS AIRES:  Argentine citizens and residents in Argentina

  1. Valid Identity Document.
  2. All passengers, must complete an Electronic Affidavit 48 hours prior to boarding the flight, about their vaccination status and absence of symptoms of COVID-19. This form is available in the following link: https://ddjj.migraciones.gob.ar/app. After submitting your application, a copy of this Electronic Affidavit will be sent to your email inbox which must be presented at the time of checking in for the flight at the airport.
  3. It is recommended that passengers entering the national territory, who are NOT vaccinated or who have an incomplete vaccination scheme, to undergo a diagnostic test for COVID-19 within TWENTY-FOUR (24) hours after entering the country.

FROM ASUNCION TO BUENOS AIRES:  non-resident foreigners

  1. Valid Identity Document.
  2. All passengers, authorized to enter the national territory, must complete an Electronic Affidavit 48 hours prior to boarding the flight, about their vaccination status and absence of symptoms of COVID-19. This form is available in the following link: https://ddjj.migraciones.gob.ar/app. After submitting your application, a copy of this Electronic Affidavit will be sent to your email inbox which must be presented at the time of checking in for the flight at the airport.
  3. All non-resident foreigners must have traveler’s insurance against COVID-19, with full coverage of hospitalization services, tests, isolation and / or medical transfers for those who test positive, who are suspect of being positive or close contacts (a document that certifies it must be presented).
  4. It is recommended that passengers entering the national territory, who are NOT vaccinated or who have an incomplete vaccination scheme, to undergo a diagnostic test for COVID-19 within TWENTY-FOUR (24) hours after entering the country.
  5. Return ticket.

Passengers in transit in Argentina:

Argentina allows nationals or foreigners in transit to other countries with a stay of less than 24 hours in national airports.

It is the passenger’s responsibility to comply with the health and documentation requirements for entering the city of their destination.

Failure to comply with the requirements may result in denied boarding.

FROM BUENOS AIRES TO ASUNCIÓN:  Paraguay citizens, foreigners, and residents in Paraguay

  1. Valid Identity Document.
  2. Vaccination certificate against COVID-19: Travelers aged 12 years and older must prove that they were vaccinated with a certificate or vaccination card issued by the health authority of the country of origin. Passengers are considered fully vaccinated when they have been inoculated with the last dose of their vaccination scheme plus a booster dose.

The vaccination certificate will be accepted in the following languages: Spanish, English, Portuguese, and French. The certificate must contain the following information:

  • Passenger ´s name.
  • Date of birth.
  • Identification or passport number.
  • Identification of the manufacturer of the vaccine.
  • Batch number of the vaccine administered.
  • Date of administration of the vaccine.

Proof of vaccination indicating data in QR-CODE format, or any other coded language will not be accepted.

Passengers who do NOT have the respective booster vaccinations, must also present: SARS-CoV-2 TEST (RNA detection technique: RT-PCR / LAMP / NAAT) with a negative result, taken with a maximum of 72 hours before departure. Antigen tests will not be accepted.

3. All travelers aged 12 years and older, who are NOT vaccinated/fully vaccinated, are required to show a negative COVID-19 test result (RT-PCR, LAMP or NAAT) taken no more than 72 hours prior to embarkation. Antigen test results will not be accepted.

4. Passengers aged 12 years and older, who have had COVID-19 must present a positive COVID-19 ARN, RT-PCR, LAMP, NAAT or Antigen test issued at least 10 days and maximum 90 days prior to flight arrival.

5. All passengers must present an International Certificate of Vaccination against Yellow Fever. This vaccination certificate is required for travelers from countries at risk of disease transmission (Brazil, Bolivia, Peru and Venezuela). This document will be required at the entrance and departure from the Paraguayan territory (photos/photocopies will not be accepted). The vaccine must be applied at least 10 days before the trip.

Transit passengers in Asuncion:

Passengers in transit via Asuncion are allowed to stay at the airport for a maximum of 24 hours, when there is an agreement between airlines.

Passengers in transit via Asuncion, who are NOT fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and when there is no agreement between airlines, will be allowed to stay at the airport for a maximum of 24 hours through a permanence permit to be granted by migrations authorities. In order to obtain this permission, passengers must present their connecting itinerary, and a negative RT-PCR, LAMP or NAAT test for COVID-19 taken no more than 72 hours prior to arrival.

Passengers in transit via Asuncion, who are NOT fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and who´s connecting time between flights exceeds 24 hours, will be denied boarding their flight at the point of origin.

Passengers in transit via Asuncion, who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, will not be required to obtain a permanence permit. Passengers must prove that they were vaccinated with a certificate or vaccination card issued by the health authority of the country of origin. Passengers are considered fully vaccinated if they have completed 14 days of the last dose of the full schedule.

Failure to comply with the requirements may result in denied boarding.
